LUCENTO is a particulate detector conceived by Giorgio Olivero of design studio TODO on the technological open-source platform ARDUINO and it is produced by the company Light Solutions, both located in the Turin area.
The project was born from the idea of creating an object that could compensate for the limited abilities of human olfactory in detecting air quality in domestic premises. The product that will be commercialized with the name "Ficcanaso" is a sort of "nose" that measures the quantity of fine dusts present in the room where it is installed and it then converts these data into changing luminous textures; a very emotional source of light that becomes an indicator and this to arise one's awareness of what can produce, in terms of particulate, the most common actions taking place in rooms.
